The Smart RSN Stadium

The Smart RSN Stadium is the home ground of Cambodian football heavyweights Phnom Penh Crown! This will be part of my football stadiums of Cambodia series and I am happy to say the RSN Stadium is one of the best.

Who are Phnom Penh Crown

Phnom Penh Crown are considered one of the big 5 clubs in Cambodia and are one of the mot successful and well-supported.

The club were known under a number of names including Phnom Penh United/Empire, Hello United and Samat United until adopting their current name in 2009. They even have commemorative boxes celebrating 10 years! I have shirts older than them!

What have Phnom Penh Crown won?

They have won 6 C-League titles as well as two national cups, namely the Hun Sen Cup, named after the Prime-Minister of Cambodia.

As things currently stand they have a good chance of being the 2021 Cambodian League champions!

Where do Phnom Penh Crown FC Play? They play at the RSN Stadium

The Smart SRN Stadium, like many stadiums in Cambodia is on the outskirts of the city, much like Visakha. Thankfully they are not in Kandal, so you will not need a ferry to get here.

It is named after the owner of the club…..

How do you get to the RSN Stadium?

Drive, bike, or Tuk-Tuk. It is on most taxi apps, or at least Grab anyway and getting here from Royal Palace will set you back anywhere between 10-12,000 riel, or a maximum of $3.

What are the facilities at the RSN Stadium?

There’s an awesome club shop, where I was so bold as to purchase some shirts. One of the best club shops I have seen, and even had replica trophies on display.

Sadly though that is about it, with no food to speak of, although that tends to be fairly common sadly.

The capacity of the RSN Stadium is officially 5,000 making it one of the biggest in the country.
