They say there is no such thing as a free lunch, but at Funky Flashpackers that is literally what they offer you, a free lunch and a free room. What is the catch might you ask?
Free overnight rooms in Siem Reap
OK, so its not free in the sense that you do not pay anything, in that case there really is no such thing as a free lunch, but at Funky Flashpackers on Funky Lane, formerly known as Funky Backpackers they offer a deal whereby for $25 they will give you a room AND a $25 tab at the bar.
To put this into context a pie, or pasty and a pint comes in at $3.50 and even a Jager is only $3. I’ve tried this fad out and not only did it work, but it was kinda hard to spend all of the money!

A free room for a month
Now whilst the nightly deal is obviously very good, they also offer a monthly gig for $300 that you guessed it gets you a $300 bar tab, or $10 a day on food and beverages.
I’ve done the math on this, and they offer a huge breakfast for only $5, which is so big it could double up as a lunch, and then you could do pie and a pint for $3.50 and then finish off with 3 more pints.
With coronavirus bashing the hotel industry hotels are falling over themselves to offer long term deals, I am paying $160 a month at Primefold for example, but there truly is no better long term rental offer in Siem Reap than the Funky Flashpacker deal.
Oh and they also have a great swimming pool, karaoke and a soon to be opened rooftop bar.
